Rasa
Cacao Shaman - Kakaopelli
Sycamore Canyon, Arizona
Rasa's first encounter with the cacao devas was when he was five years old. Starring in a Nesquik commercial as a chocolate boy in West Berlin, Germany, he became a "spokesperson" for chocolate. Little did he know...
Rasa left Germany at the age of 19 to travel and to explore life. After a few close calls, and a brush with death in a bus crash in Mexico, he came to the United States. During his time there, he came upon texts and religions he had heard of, yet never considered studying. He started studying Shamanism, Vedic and Tantric teachings, and found answers to some of his questions he had in regards to life, love, and transition (death).
At the age of 22, he learned the art of massage, and was introduced and instructed in the art of healing with gems, minerals, and other tools, starting him on a holistic path. For about fifteen years, he was also actively being involved in all aspects of mining, cutting and polishing, and designing jewelry and sales, while he was fortunate to have kept on studying with many amazing healers, teachers and guides.
Continuously expanding and learning has been Rasa's motto since he left Germany in '87. To stay true to his chosen path, Rasa decided to take the offer of living in a tantric temple to study the ancient art of tantra/sacred sexuality. For approx. 9 months he went into service in form of a apprenticeship and thus did everything that was required to keep the temple up and running, while also doing sessions and finding other tools for his own personal healing. Realizing that the only aspect that was missing before in his shamanic studies, was that of sacred sexuality, Rasa created a modality that he named "shamantric healing" and is still incorporating these two components.
A few years ago cacao reentered Rasa's life when he was invited to a Mayan shamanic cacao ceremony in Sedona, Arizona. He became fascinated by his experience and continued to deepen his own exploration of this sacred plant. After many profound experiences he chose to incorporate Theobroma cacao (chocolate) as his main tool for healing journeys with individuals, couples, and groups. The healing effects that he has encountered during sessions and ceremonies strengthen his conviction over and over that cacao is one of the gentlest, safest, and also one of the most powerful and profound healing tools.
Rasa is living with his son in Sedona, Arizona as he continues teaching, nationally and internationally. Besides him seeing clients and guiding ceremonies, he is sharing his passion of the land as he is guiding individuals, couples, and groups safely over the red rocks of Sedona, to the Grand Canyon, and other sacred sites, while sharing his knowledge in regards to shamanism, geology, and history for the past ten years.
